NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Strong to severe storms are possible with an approaching cold front Friday into Saturday.
The areas under the YELLOW color are under a Slight Risk (2/5) for any storm to reach severe criteria. The areas under the GREEN color are under a Marginal Risk (1/5) for any storm to reach severe criteria.

Damaging wind and heavy rain will be the greatest threats. Hail is also possible. Though the tornado threat is very low, it cannot be ruled out.

We're expecting two rounds of storms. Check out the timing below:
The first round is expected anytime between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. Things will quiet down, then our second round is expected Friday overnight into Saturday morning.
Most of the rain pushes out by late morning to noon Saturday. The second half of the day will be much drier and noticeably cooler, with highs in the low 70s.

Sunday will be the weekend winner with bright sunshine, crisp air and cool upper 70s for a high.
