NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville mother wants drivers to watch out.
Summer McKinney was driving her son to school when she witnessed a driver speeding past a school bus in Antioch.
It was a heart pounding moment just as kids were being let off a school bus in Antioch off Country Way Road.
"Kids are excited to get home from school, they jump off the bus," McKinney said. "It could have been a tragic situation."
McKinney was driving her 11-year-old son home from school on Wednesday, and her dash cam captured the incident on video.
She said it's not the first time she's seen drivers go onto the shoulder to pass traffic.
"Your need, for whatever reason, to get ahead of everybody could have caused a fatality," she said.
McKinney said she reported this to hubNashville, a site where residents with non-emergencies can submit their complaints.
She hopes the city follows through with her.
The new Southeast Metro police precinct is opening in Antioch in a few weeks.
Officers said this will help increase patrols in the area.
The mayor's office says hubNashville sends out the complaints to the proper department.
Metro police said you can always call them directly.
