GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Old Hickory Lake Sprint Triathlon is back this weekend, and Gallatin police already have traffic setups to keep everyone safe.

Gallatin police have begun traffic setups for the Old Hickory Lake Triathlon to ensure residents' safety. The triathlon returns to Old Hickory Lake this Saturday in Gallatin.

The triathlon course features a 400-meter swim in Old Hickory Lake, a 20K bike route on a closed highway and a 5K run course. The Hendersonville Endurance Athletic Team is hosting the event.

In 2024, HEAT hosted its 19th annual Kids Triathlon where kids ages 6-15 competed against each other.

Gallatin Police are preparing to shut down Highway 386 where the bike portion of the race will take place from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. The Big Station Camp Boulevard exit in Gallatin will also close, so drivers will need to find an alternative route.
