NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Metro Nashville Police Department investigation has resulted in the arrest of a man accused of fatally shooting two men near Percy Priest Lake in Nashville.

Josue Daniel Hernandez-Moxje, 23, a native of Honduras, was extradited Tuesday to Nashville from Louisiana on two counts of criminal homicide.

According to Metro Police, the investigation found that on April 27, two Alabama teenagers — Amir Landan Wilkerson, 19, and Jaime Valdez-Garcia, 18 — traveled to Nashville with Hernandez-Moxje in Wilkerson's vehicle.

The following day, Wilkerson and Valdez-Garcia were found shot dead along a wooded trail between Lincoya Bay Apartments and Percy Priest Lake. Authorities said it was believed the homicides occurred in the same place the bodies were found.

In an investigation aided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Department of Homeland Security, Hernandez-Moxje's vehicle was tracked by license plate reader technology to Kenner, Louisiana.

On June 6, he was arrested in Kenner by local law enforcement and jailed on outstanding warrants out of Nashville for domestic violence, theft and bad checks.

Metro Police said evidence found in his vehicle was sent for forensic testing, and was confirmed to be linked to the April homicides. He was officially charged Friday, June 20 and returned to Nashville late Tuesday night.

Authorities said additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
