MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) -- The Mt. Juliet Police Department is trying to track down a missing 3-year-old boy who was reportedly taken by his non-custodial father following an argument with the child's mother.

Authorities said they responded to Academy Sports + Outdoors in the 500 block of Pleasant Grove Road on Saturday, July 26 after getting a call about an altercation between a mother and the kid's non-custodial father. During the incident, the mother tried to retrieve her child from a vehicle, but the non-custodial father allegedly left the scene with him.

According to officials, the Metro Nashville Police Department attempted to check on the kid's welfare later in the day, but the suspect fled again.
