RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — La Vergne police arrested the person accused of driving away after hitting a pedestrian with their vehicle Friday.
The La Vergne Police Department said officers were called to Dollar General on Stones River Road, where a pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle that fled from the area.
After speaking with the victim and witnesses, authorities said the driver was identified and found at his residence. He was taken into custody by detectives and booked into the Rutherford County Jail.
La Vergne police did not identify the driver, but said he was charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to give immediate notice.
