NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The desperate Tennessee Titans (0-4) head to Arizona (2-2) Sunday, still searching for their first win of the season and first win of the Cam Ward era.

The Titans have lost 10 straight games dating back to last season and the concern is they are getting further from victory than closer with their losing margin growing each week from 8 to 14 to 21 and finally 26 last week in Houston. Fans are calling for a coaching change, and even Ward vented his frustration after their latest loss. Head coach Brian Callahan said dealing with the noise is important.

"Yeah, I think everyone's got their own way of handling those things. Some take a lot more than others, but there's part of that you can use as motivation if you're looking for it. There's definitely ways that it can inspire you in some way, shape, or form. I generally take the stance that most things on social media and Twitter are generally poison, and I try to stay away from it as much as possible, personally. But our players are of the age and the generation of guys that have just grown up with phones and social media. So they see things, they understand that criticism comes with this job, good or bad, and you have to learn how to deal with both of those things, especially when things go well, too. You've got to deal with the praise part of it. They're both equally dangerous. And so usually my best advice and my own personal practice is I tend to not engage in as little of it as possible," Callahan said.

The Titans do need to engage the scoreboard, though. Tennessee is last in the league in scoring, last in passing offense and next to last in total offense this season. In Houston, Ward completed less than 40% of his passes despite only being sacked two times making it extremely difficult to keep drives going.

NFL Ranks

  • Scoring - Titans 12.8 (32)
  • Offense -  Titans 210 YPG (31)
  • Passing - Titans 123 YPG (32)
  • Rushing - Titans 87 YPG (28)

They face a Cardinals team that looks improved on defense, especially in the run game. The Cardinals are surrendering only 18.5 points per game and only 97 on the ground per game behind behemoth defensive lineman Calais Campbell.

"They've got some young players that are playing well," Callahan said. "They've some veteran guys that are stepping up and contributing in some important roles. Calais Campbell is still out there doing it at a high level, which is crazy to see how well he's playing. So good team, got to go on the road and go play good football if we want to win."

The good news for the Titans is once again they are facing another offense that is struggling to get off of the ground. The Cardinals are averaging only 270 yards and 20 points per game. Arizona has lost its top two running backs, James Conner and Trey Benson to injury. Their most consistent weapon though is probably young tight end Tre McBride who leads the team with 24 receptions for 234 yards this season.

The wildcard is quarterback Kyler Murray, who still has lightning quick feet outside of the pocket. Murray has at least five carries in all four games this season and is averaging almost six yards per carry. The Titans were very effective week one caging in Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, they will likely utilize a similar strategy against Murray trying to close off the edges while collapsing the middle of the pocket behind star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.

The Titans have to figure out a way to play four quarters Sunday. In three of their four losses they have been in one score games headed into the fourth quarter, but let things slip away. The Titans have been outscored 47-10 in the final quarter this season. The biggest key to that could take us right back to the top, Ward completing more passes, keeping the offense on the field and not leaving the defense gassed to finish the game.
