NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — David Price is heading to the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

The College Baseball Foundation announced Monday the 21 players in its 2025 class for the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

Price, a former standout pitcher at Vanderbilt University and a Murfreesboro native, led the Commodores to a Southeastern Conference regular season championship followed by an SEC tournament title in 2007.

That year, he had an 11-1 record, 2.63 ERA and 194 strikeouts across 133.1 innings, which set school records for strikeouts and innings pitched in a season. His efforts earned him the Golden Spikes Award, which honors the nation's top amateur baseball player who also shows great ability on the field and sportsmanship.

Price was also named the consensus National Player of the Year, a first-team All-American, SEC Pitcher of the Year, and he won the Dick Howser Tropy, the Brooks Wallace Award and the Roger Clemens Award.

He was also named an All-American in 2006 and received Freshman All-America honors in 2005. He set the Vanderbilt school record in strikeouts with 441.

In 2007, the Tampa Bay Rays selected Price with the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB Draft. He would go on to win the 2010 Cy Young Award while with the Rays and won the 2018 World Series with the Boston Red Sox. He was also named an MLB All-Star five times.

Price will be inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame on Feb. 12, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the 2026 Night of Champions presented by Prairiefire.
