NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Flooding is an issue we know all too well in parts of Middle Tennessee.
Monday night, Metro Councilwoman Terry Vo is bringing her district together to start the conversation about long-term solutions for their neighborhoods.
Vo, who represents District 17, said she knows there's not an overnight fix for flooding in her district.
She told News 2 the goal is to go to the drawing board and begin what will eventually become a large-scale stormwater mitigation project.
Vo said the area they'll first focus on Vaulx Lane, which sits between 12 South and Franklin Pike, which has had flooding issues for a decade.
The flooding has been so bad, people living there have been coming up with their own flooding mitigation methods, but Vo wants a solution for everyone.

Monday night, she's holding a meeting to hear feedback and to be honest about where the city is with getting a solution on the table..
"For me, I really wanted to be upfront with my constituents and let them know this is where we're at and I don't want to give them a false sense that this is going to be fixed tomorrow, but I think I've sensed and understood that they have a lot of frustration," Vo said.
This meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Sevier Park Community Center, located at 3021 Lealand Lane.
