Description
MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman who has evaded police for more than a decade was caught Wednesday afternoon following a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet.
The arrest comes after an officer with the Mt. Juliet Police Department reportedly spotted a vehicle on Pleasant Grove Road that was "associated with a person wanted for over a decade."
Once officials confirmed the driver's identity, a 45-year-old woman from La Vergne was taken into custody. The woman was wanted in Rutherford County for two active warrants, police said.
According to Mt. Juliet police, the first warrant was issued in 2015 for probation violation related to the sale of a Schedule II drug. Meanwhile, the second warrant was reportedly issued in 2017 for failure to appear on the original charges of simple possession, drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license.
"Thanks to our officers’ dedication and awareness, this long-time wanted person is now in custody. We’re proud to focus on crime so our residents and visitors can focus on living, working, and enjoying our safe city in peace," wrote the police department in a social media post about the arrest.
No additional details were released about the woman who was arrested as a result of the traffic stop.
