NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman was slashed with a piece of glass during an argument in East Nashville Wednesday night.

Officers were called to the 600 block of South Seventh Street around 10:30 p.m.

According to Metro police, two women were involved in a fight before 27-year-old Queen Mcelrath fled the scene. Mcelrath returned a short time later with a piece of glass and slashed the victim on both arms, according to court documents.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Mcelrath ran to a nearby apartment before eventually surrendering to officers. She was booked into the Metro jail and charged with felony aggravated assault.
