PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Deputies in Putnam County have arrested and charged a woman after a search warrant revealed that illegal commercial sex acts were being offered at an alleged foot spa business.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office —alongside the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security, and the Cookeville Police Department—executed a search warrant at a residence in the 23 block of West 4th Street on Wednesday, June 18.
Following the search, authorities seized $500 and took 46-year-old Zou Liushauang into custody. Deputies added that Liushauang is from China and is living in the country illegally.
She was reportedly renting the home and operating it as a foot spa business. However, officials said she had no business license.
Investigators reported they were able to "use techniques that confirmed that there were illegal commercial sex acts being offered at the so-called business."
"This operation reflects our continued commitment to investigating and dismantling illegal operations that violate public," said Sheriff Eddie Farris in a release about the arrest. "We are grateful for the coordinated efforts of our local, state, and federal partners in bringing this case forward."
The 46-year-old was charged with impersonation of a licensed professional and prostitutions.
According to the sheriff's office, Luishaunang is being held in the Putnam County Jail on a $12,500 bond and federal ICE hold. After the conclusion of the state charges, she will reportedly be transferred to ICE custody for prosecution and eventually deported from the United States.
She is expected to appear in court on July 23.
