NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man died Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in South Nashville.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Murfreesboro Pike.
The pedestrian -- who is believed to be 63 years old -- was reportedly crossing the street between the intersections of Murfreesboro Pike and Plus Park Drive and Murfreesboro Pike and Spence Lane when he was struck by a Ford Escape.
MNPD noted there are crosswalks at both intersections.
The victim was pronounced deceased at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The Ford driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, according to authorities.
The Medical Examiner's Office is working to verify the pedestrian's identity.
