NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Violence on Tennessee interstates continues, and over the weekend, a 22-year-old man was shot and killed while driving on I-24 in Rutherford County.
While deputies are searching for that gunman, a widow who lost her husband in a similar incident wants the violence to stop.
Noah Taylor was the victim in Saturday's fatal shooting on I-24.
The incident brings back painful memories for Stephanie Spaunhorst.
On Christmas Day 2022, her husband, Chris Spaunhorst, was murdered.
"He went to go drop his mom off in Smyrna and was coming back here and someone shot into his car about 10 times," Spaunhorst said.
She said thanks to someone for giving Metro police dash camera footage. They have a suspect vehicle, a black Kia sedan.
The shooter is still out there.
"Check your dash camera," Stephanie said. "That is what got us our car. That is how we were able to identify the car that shot him."
She hopes someone does the same for Taylor's family.
His parents, Katrina Leonard and Scot Taylor, shared the same plea.
Police said Chris' case may be linked to road rage, but Rutherford County deputies aren't sure what led up to Noah's murder.
Stephanie said she's never met Noah's family, but they spoke about their tragedies over the phone.
Rewards leading to an arrest are out in both cases.
