ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating the circumstances of a deadly shooting that took place Monday afternoon in the parking lot of a Starbucks store in Antioch.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the shooting was reported in the parking lot of a Starbucks located in the 5300 block of Hickory Hollow Parkway around 4:20 p.m. on Monday, July 14.
Detectives said 18-year-old Jeremiah Brown was in the area with two other people and had gotten out of a vehicle they were traveling in. A witness reportedly told law enforcement that they heard yelling before the sounds of gunfire.
Brown was taken to TriStar Century Farms' emergency room at 4:28 p.m., but was later transferred to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, which is where he died hours later during surgery.
According to officials, detectives are checking the area for surveillance video that can help with the investigation.
Anyone with information about the deadly shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
