SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — Spring Hill has approved a new budget for next year and the city has added several positions to keep public safety a top priority.
Spring Hills' new budget adds 27 new positions to multiple departments in an effort to make sure the city stays protected.
The total budget came in around $133 million, and the property tax rate is staying around 73 cents.
Those new positions include 10 new fire fighters, six in public works and an additional 10 will be for utilities. Spring Hill leaders say the new additions bring the city's personnel to over 400-full time jobs.
Almost $7 million is being used for police field operations and almost $3 million will be allocated to their Fire Station #4. New park expansions are set to take place with a new playground set for Harvey Park. And the budget is also leaving room for senior centers, libraries and road projects.
