RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Motorists are backed up for miles in Rutherford County due to "police activity" that has closed multiple eastbound lanes on Interstate 24.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the "police activity" was reported just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 at mile marker 64.8 of I-24 East, where the two left lanes and the left shoulder are currently blocked.
A TDOT spokesperson posted on social platform X shortly before 4:30 p.m. that local emergency services are on site and traffic is detouring at Waldron Road.
Traffic cameras show motorists backed up all the way to mile marker 60.7 on I-24 East.
