MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — One artist has used her talents to draw attention to local businesses.
Lauren Hogan, also known as Lauren Alexandra Art, focused more on her artwork following the pandemic. Hogan started painting Airbnb listings for fun when the owner of a Mt. Juliet bakery, The Émeraude Bakery, reached out to her to design artwork for the property.
She also painted a mural for the Ridge Coffeehouse in Hartsville, which she said is the biggest piece she's ever done.
Hogan told News 2 that she wants her artwork to entice people to support local businesses.
"If you're driving past something and you see artwork on it, it's eye-catching," Hogan said. "I feel like people will be a little more inclined to check it out and see what the business is all about — whether that be a restaurant, a bakery or a bookstore."
Higan said she wants to continue painting murals for more businesses and plans to expand her art into Old Hickory. She added that she's also looking to put another piece in Gallatin.
