NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Buttercup Festival is back in Nolensville this weekend. Since the event has grown so much, there are some changes to expect before you go on Saturday.
The town of Nolensville has been gearing up for the festival for the last several months. Festival directors say the growth of the festival this year means they're having to up security.
You may notice additional officers patrolling the festival to make sure everyone stays safe.
There will also be some changes made to Nolensville Road on Saturday to manage traffic at the festival.
"When you speak of the delineators, they'll be lining Nolensville Road which is a state highway. The speed limit there is 35 miles an hour, but for safety factors, we'll be lining the entirety," Nolensville Vice Mayor Jessica Salamida said.
This year, they've also pushed back the vendor booths so they're not located right on the roadway. They're being placed back 25 to 50 feet.
This year’s festival will be the 25th iteration, but it nearly didn’t happen.
