NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A perk for musicians heading to play gigs around Nashville just got better.
Due to the success of its 60% off musicians discounts, parking technology company Metropolis is now launching what they're calling the "Park & Play Program" on Friday, Aug. 15.
The new program will reportedly offer 100% free parking for musicians for the next year at 25 lots across the city, which are strategically located near independent music venues.
"Metropolis is constantly thinking about how we can leverage our technology to not only make parking easier for people, but also how we can leverage it do good and support out hometown," said Ryan Hunt with Metropolis. "Nashville wouldn't be Music City without local musicians. We want them to know we not only see and appreciate them, but that we also support them."

According to Dave Pomeroy with the Nashville Musicians Association, the new program will take a big weight off the shoulders of local musicians and create a safer, more welcoming environment for them.
“In a state like Tennessee, where you can't force anyone to join the union, our whole approach has been we just make people want to join the union. And this is one more benefit. We have a lot of different ways to save people money, and it's just about respect for musicians," said Pomeroy. "That's what made Nashville into Music City and Metropolis gets it. And we've worked together, and we've had great conversations, been able to be very honest with one another, and this is a fabulous benefit for our members that we're really excited about.”
News 2 reached out to the Nashville Department of Transportation for comment about the program, but have not yet heard back.
