NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — There are growing concerns over the noise planes leaving Nashville International Airport are creating over people's homes.

However, one man is taking it upon himself to propose a solution for his neighborhood.

Clark Hudgins says he loves to sit on his screen porch and enjoy their property, but that peace he feels outside has been interrupted by planes that he says are becoming increasingly loud.

He said he's become passionate about fixing this problem.

Hudgins said he started to notice the noise in mid-April.

He's lived in his home since 1999 and said he's never before had to complain about plane noise.

He noticed on the app Flight Aware there was an added route that flies right over his neighborhood, Aberdeen Woods.

Hudgins then got to work researching and discovered the noise was planes flying southwest, so he contacted the FAA and the Nashville airport and requested that planes take off from runway 20R instead of 20C

"That runway is set back another 500 yards from 20C and from that same 255 degree trajectory, it would take those flights over more commercial properties and Interstate 440 than it would be the residential areas of my neighborhood in Crieve Hall, Green Hills, and Belle Meade," Hudgins said.

Hudgins told News 2 he hasn't heard back from the airport or the FAA. BNA does not control flight patterns, but the FAA does.

News 2 has reached out to them and has not heard back yet as of publication.
