PORTLAND, Tenn. (WKRN) — At least six children were injured in a school bus crash in Portland on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

According to Sumner County EMS, the crash was reported at 2:53 p.m.

EMS officials told News 2 that two children were released to their parents, who made it to a drop-off location. Meanwhile, four children were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries.

According to Sumner County Sheriff Eric Craddock, the school bus was rear ended on Longview Road in Portland.

Craddock told News 2 that Sumner County deputies, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Portland Police Department are also at the scene of the crash.

No additional information was immediately released.
