Description

PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two people were arrested earlier this week after a parole search reportedly led authorities to find drugs, including fentanyl, in an apartment with children inside.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a parole search at an apartment in the 800 block of E. Spring Street on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Officials said Patti Hall Jaeger resided at the location and gave law enforcement permission to enter the residence for a parole check

Jaeger reportedly directed two children to sit in a bedroom downstairs as deputies searched the apartment. However, deputies said when they followed the children into the bedroom, they saw multiple baggies and digital scales on the bed.

After seeing the drug paraphernalia, authorities reportedly instructed the children to leave the room and wait in the living room. Officials said further inspection of the bedroom revealed that one of the digital scales, which was in arms reach of one of the kids, had a powered residue on it, which was believed to be fentanyl.

In addition, deputies reportedly found a bag containing 1.9 grams of a pink powered substance and hypodermic needles, which were all accessible to the children. A small bag containing a crystal-like substance, believed to be meth, was also found approximately 3 feet away from a couch that the children were seated on, officials said.

The sheriff's office said Patti's husband—identified as Ryan Jaeger—was also in the residence and admitted that the bedroom is where he and his wife use drugs.

Authorities added both children were removed from the residence by the Department of Children's Services.

No additional information was released.
