HOHENWALD, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted for sex-related crimes against children was taken into custody Saturday morning after a U.S. Marshals task force found him at a home in Lewis County.
The U.S. Marshals Service said the Metro Nashville Police Department issued an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Marc Anthony Carpenter on July 2. He was reportedly wanted for three counts of rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery for a victim under 13 and three counts of attempted sexual battery for a victim under 13.
After learning that Carpenter had left the Nashville area, officials said the U.S. Marshals Service Middle Tennessee Fugitive Task Force launched an investigation.
Then, on Saturday, Aug. 9, the task force found Carpenter at a home along Henderson Road in Hohenwald. The 39-year-old was reportedly arrested without incident and taken to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, where he was booked into jail.
"The U.S. Marshals Service is committed to protecting the most vulnerable in our communities by apprehending dangerous fugitives," the task force wrote in a release about the arrest.
No additional information was immediately released.
