NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Do you need items for your baby or toddler? If so, one local mothers group has an event just for you for you to get the things you need—all for free.
This Saturday, Nov. 8, MAEVE Eastside Neighbors are holding a "Baby Buy Nothing" event at the East Park Community Center.
The group will have gently used baby, toddler, and postpartum items for mothers in need to "shop" if they need them.
MAEVE—short for Motherhood Alliance Equity Village Empowerment—is a nonprofit organization that wants to offer support to mothers in the neighborhood. MAEVE Eastside Neighbors is comprised of more than 60 members in the East Nashville area between the Cumberland River and Trinity Lane.
"We are your village. We are your friends. We are here to inspire you. We want to empower you to become a leader and create impactful change in our community," the group's mission reads. "Our chapter provides support to its members and our local community through members-only programming and events, community service, charitable giving, and so much more."
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the community center, located at 600 Woodland Street.
MAEVE Eastside Neighbors is not the only chapter in the Nashville area. There are four total chapters in Tennessee - all in and around Music City. The Cumberland North chapter encompasses the rest of East Nashville above Trinity Lane, as well as part of Goodlettsville, Madison, and Donelson; There is also a general Nashville chapter (MAEVE Music City), and a MAEVE Mt. Juliet chapter for moms looking for community.
