NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Vanderbilt Commodores are in the College Football Playoff committee rankings for the first time in program history.
The CFP committee tabbed the Commodores at No. 16 in the 2025 season's first edition of the rankings.
Vanderbilt (7-2, 3-2 SEC) cracked the CFP top 25 for the first time since the rankings were first released in the 2014-2015 season despite falling on the road at Texas on Saturday, 34-31.
The Commodores are ranked No. 15 in the AP Poll and No. 17 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Nine Southeastern Conference teams were also included in Tuesday night's rankings.

Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea and his team are back in Nashville with the Auburn Tigers (4-5, 1-5 SEC) coming to town for a 3 p.m. showdown at FirstBank Stadium on Saturday.
