NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The 17-year-old injured in an ATV crash last week has died, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
In a news release, MNPD officials identified the teen as Darryl Anthony, who was driving the ATV at the time of the crash on Aug. 11. Police said the ATV collided with a Dodge Durango on Hobson Pike and Smith Springs Parkway.
Further investigation revealed the Durango was traveling east and had the green light to turn left, but the ATV ran a red light and hit the Durango at the intersection.
As a result, Anthony and his 16-year-old passenger were taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics, according to authorities.
Officials with the MNPD said the 16-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Neither the 16-year-old nor Anthony was wearing a helmet when the crash happened.
The two Durango occupants were not transported to the hospital after the crash.
