At least 1 dead following multi-vehicle crash in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — At least one person has died following a crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon in DeKalb County.
A spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Transportation took to X just before 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, to announce that "SR 26 East at Sligo Boat Road is closed due to a multi-vehicle crash with a fatality."
It remains unclear what led to the crash or when the roadway is expected to reopen.
No additional details were immediately released. News 2 has reached out to the Tennessee Highway Patrol to learn more.
