NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — If you drive down one park on the East side, you'll find a tiny box that holds some unique items inside.
At the end of Cornelia Fort Airpark, you'll find a mini art gallery with special pieces inside.
The gallery sits on Shadow Lane near the park, just down the short end of the street. The box features several pieces of artwork just like this one, and the artist uses a QR code, so visitors can 'Pay What They Can' to support the artist.
East Nashville resident Jodie Mowry was so charmed by it, she posted the gallery on East Nashville's Facebook page, and it has almost 300 likes.
Mowry said it's magical to see people aren't holding themselves back from being creative, and little moments like this make her feel right at home in East Nashville.
"You gotta love East Nashville because it's such carefree self-expression area," Mowry said. "Everybody is just loving it, and the artist chimed in on the post as well. I just loved it."
Mowry said it's not uncommon to see local musicians, artists and more in East Nashville, which contributes to the area being so unique.
Mowry wants to spread the message to visitors that the town is encouraging, the environment is welcoming and it's never too late to start an idea like this one.
