NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Nashville's Cold Case detectives are trying to track down a suspected shoplifter who fled from a Nolensville Pike Walmart last week, sparking gunfire from an officer working security.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the suspect, 33-year-old Scott Hudgens Jr., left the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter in the 5800 block of Nolensville Pike in a vehicle on Wednesday, April 23.

According to authorities, a pursuing Greenfield police officer, who was working security for Walmart, fired shots toward Hudgens, but no shooting victims were found at the scene or reported at local hospitals.

Police said Cold Case detectives are investigating the officer-involved shooting and want to interview Hudgens.

Officials said Hudgens -- who received a probated sentence following convictions for driving under the influence and drug possession last June -- is also wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft of merchandise from a February incident at the Walgreens in the 5300 block of Harding Pike.

If you see Hudgens or have any information regarding his whereabouts, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
