NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro Police officers are pursuing a stolen vehicle through Davidson County. Officials told News 2 the pursuit began around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, the vehicle was initially spotted in Old Hickory with a woman asleep inside. Officers reportedly checked the tag in a police database, and it was confirmed to be stolen.
When officers attempted to approach the car, the woman reportedly drove into police cars and drove away.
Metro Police pursued the vehicle through Madison and East Nashville at speeds reaching 50 mph.
Spike strips were deployed on the vehicle, damaging all four tires. Officials say the car is now traveling at speeds of 5 mph.
MNPD patrol cars, an MNPD helicopter and News 2 continue to follow the suspect vehicle.
