NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 53-year-old man was arrested after he was accused of threatening to run over pedestrians and shoot Metro officers in downtown Nashville last week.
Metro police reported officers were alerted to videos circulating on social medica by Phillip Anderson on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Anderson posted videos of him pulling up alongside Metro police vehicles at the Music City Center with a shotgun, according to court documents.
While holding the shotgun, Metro police said Anderson made the following statements:
"This is a .410 shotgun, I got it for them."
"I'm about to take it to them. I'm going to give it to them, too."
"I'm about to find a sniper point."
Anderson also reportedly said he was going to run over pedestrians on Broadway with his vehicle by driving onto the sidewalk.
Metro police noted these videos caused an immediate emergency response with officers responding to what they believed was an "impending mass casualty event."
Anderson was arrested and charged with felony false reporting of an emergency, possessing a weapon under the influence and driving under the influence (2nd offense). His bond was set at $19,000.
