LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee State Fair features more than 150 livestock shows, attracting competitors from across the southeastern United States.
One of them is Kati Taylor, who has spent the past nine years showing cattle at county fairs throughout the region.
"I started off with a few steers, then got into commercial cattle, then purebred, and about four years ago, I started showing Brahmans," Taylor said.
The event generates more than $4.8 million in revenue annually with livestock shows making up a significant part of that total.
"Hard work is definitely required," Taylor said. "It's not easy. It's blood, sweat and tears, all hours of the day."
Taylor said she's grown up with some of her animals and has won several competitions over the years.
"Every show is fun, and every show is different," Taylor said.
