Highway 41 Shut Down in Greenbrier Following Serious Crash

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – We have a serious crash in Greenbrier. The crash occurred near Wilson Street, directly in front of the American Legion on Highway 41. LOCATION OF CRASH  Utility lines are down across the highway.

We’re told the individual in the vehicle was injured in the crash. Witnesses report that the driver was read his Miranda rights and taken into custody by police. He is expected to be transported for medical attention at a nearby hospital.

The crash likely caused utility damage in the area, and power outages are being reported nearby. CEMC is currently on the scene working to repair the lines.

There is no confirmed timeline yet for when the road will reopen, but officials say at least 2 hours. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternative route until the area is cleared.
