FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — A restaurant and bar that has been open in Franklin for nearly 40 years announced that it would be permanently closing.
In a post to its official Facebook page, the Bunganut Pig Restaurant & Bar announced that the establishment would permanently close its doors on Monday, June 23.
"We appreciate all the good times that we have shared with you all, and want to give the opportunity to donate in an attempt to keep The Pig around," the announcement reads, in part. "Thank you to everyone who has supported us and continues to support us; we really hope that this isn't goodbye. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated."
The announcement post included a link to a GoFundMe for the 38-year-old restaurant with a $50,000 goal. The fundraiser said that operators were unable to continue staying open due to rising rent and maintenance requirements.
