GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Final plans were just submitted for the Foxland Harbor Marina after concerns sparked over the project's campus plan.
Marina representatives orchestrated workshops and sent out surveys to the community and found two features of the Marina were a no-go for residents.
After reviewing the surveys, they found residents were in favor of the 112 proposed condos, a restaurant, and local shops. But the proposed dry boat storage and hotel hat would have been on the property weren't so popular.
Marina leaders decided to cut the 200-dry boat storage and 110-room hotel from the plans and replace them with walkable, family-friendly activities like coffee and ice cream parlors, a ship store and an additional restaurant. The site will also include a pavilion for music and outdoor events. Marina leaders say the community helped shape the idea for the Marina and they'll continue letting them guide future decisions.
The Marina is taking names of visitors interested in wet slips and condos at the new site. The Foxland Harbor Marina campus will feature outdoor seating, adult swings, lawn games, parking, golf carts motorcycles and bicycles.
