NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Clean up continues after a weekend apartment fire destroyed nearly a dozen units in Bellevue.
One family was packing up their high school graduates for college when the fire broke out.
It's a turn of the page for Jada Rucker and her twin brother, Jaden.
They just graduated from high school and were getting ready to head to college when their family's apartment caught fire.
"I was sleeping, and I woke up to my mom screaming that there was a fire," Jada said.
At least nine other units were damaged.
Jada said she lost everything, including what she'd packed to head to Austin Peay State University.
She's set to move in on Wednesday.
Now neighbors are helping neighbors. Family friend, Ginger Hayes, has set up a GoFundMe to help out.
Jada and Jayden's family is staying in a different unit for now.
News 2 learned it was a dryer in a different apartment unit that caused the fire.
