ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) — Big changes have come for a popular South Nashville dog park.
The William A. Pitts Dog Park shut down briefly yesterday for Metro Parks crews to work on the project.
A park official told News 2 the work is already complete, and the park is back open for public use.
Metro Parks and Recreation said crews installed a new fence surrounding the entire park and electronic gates that open and close in sync with park hours.
Metro Parks said this was to keep cars from being able to drive through the park. It also makes the park safer for people and animals.
Crews also made changes to make the dog park more ADA-accessible; and workers installed a new bench inside the dog park for people to be able to sit down while their dogs play.
