NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville jury found a 73-year-old woman guilty in connection with the murder of her husband.
Christine Ann Roberts was accused of killing her husband — 68-year-old Thomas Roberts — in the 1200 block of Howard Avenue on July 9, 2023. She was accused of shooting her husband in the chest. News 2 previously reported that a neighbor had heard the gunshot and went next door to help.
He died of a gunshot wound on the front porch of his home.
At the time, Christine reportedly told authorities that she shot him because he had cheated on her. A pistol was recovered from beside Christine.
The jury deliberated for an hour and a half, according to the Office of the District Attorney General. The Office of the District Attorney General added that some of Thomas' family members hugged each other after the verdict was read.
The conviction for first-degree premeditated murder carries an automatic life sentence.
