NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman was taken into custody Tuesday after she allegedly assaulted an employee at the Nashville Zoo.
According to an arrest report, the employee told officers that she observed a woman riding her bike through an unauthorized area and told the woman to stop or she was going to call security.
The employee began to record the woman as she continued to ride her bike, which reportedly made the woman upset.
An arrest report states the woman approached the employee and punched her in the face and ribs and scratched her arm.
After the assault, security followed the woman to Elysian Fields Road and Danby Drive. Authorities reported they were advised that the woman was under the influence of "some sort of drug."
When officers arrived at the scene, the woman allegedly admitted that she hit the employee because she was upset that she was being recorded. Officials added they observed red marks on the employee's arm.
The 31-year-old woman was charged with assault resulting in bodily injury, which is a misdemeanor charge.
