RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — With the help of a drone, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office found a vehicle that was lost in a flood.
The RCSO said a 17-year-old accidentally drove around a curve in the dark and headed straight into floodwaters on March 16. He kicked the door open to escape, grabbing the car keys and his phone before the rushing waters carried the car downstream along Elam Road.
Authorities had previously tried to locate the 2012 Dodge Charger with a drone, but had no success. However, a deputy with the RCSO tracked the West Fork of the Stones River until he found the car along a riverbank.
