FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — Fall is such a special time of year in Middle Tennessee.
We are so fortunate with the endless options of fun, festive activities available to us this time of year.
From pumpkin patches to apple picking orchards, scenic drives, it can be a good problem having trouble choosing which one to pick, or better yet, trying to hit them all!

Earlier this week, I loaded the car with my youngest son and had a mommy and Elijah date at The Gentry Farm in Franklin. The weather could not have been more perfect, and we had the most wonderful time!

We started with the sensory dried corn bin. That’s always the hot spot for little E, which makes sense because he’s 2. At one point, I looked over and Elijah jumped right in, full body in the corn! It looked very inviting, so I don’t blame him!

Next up was a wagon ride through the Gentry family fields. The farm has been in the same family and passed down through seven generations since its establishment in the 1800s. The beautiful and unique architecture reflected that. Elijah loved spotting the baby cows versus the bigger cows and watching them munch on all of the yummy grass.

After that, we found some play boats by the pond. Elijah had a blast fishing! They were not real fish, but a super cute setup with magnets and fake fish, just made for little ones. Elijah was very proud to catch one.

From there, we bounced between so many fun spots. There was a mini putt-putt course, a really fun playground to wiggle more energy off, the grocery store play area and tons of games scattered throughout the farm. Everywhere you turn, there’s something to explore!
A big perk is that you can bring your own snacks or grab some there. There are plenty of picnic tables to take a break and refuel the energy for another round of fun.
Whether you’re checking out all of the sweet animals, there for the endless games, or just enjoying this beautiful fall weather, The Gentry Farm is one of those special places that reminds us all how sweet, simple fun can be turned into lifelong family memories.
