NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee Highway Patrol says they're adding more troopers to their ranks and stepping up enforcement.
It's in response to a series of road rage incidents, the latest happened over the weekend when 22-year-old Noah Taylor was killed while driving on Interstate 24.
"I don't want Noah's death to be in vain," Noah Taylor's grandmother, Tina Jacob, said. "I don't want to see anyone else going through what my daughter is right now. She is going through hell. There is nothing I can do to help her."
Investigators said Taylor was shot and killed while driving on I-24 Saturday morning.
Tina said he was heading into work.
"I was so proud of him," she said. "I cannot believe this happened to him."
Investigators said the shooter kept driving, and there isn't a vehicle description.
Troopers said this is just one of several recent road rage incidents. That's why they're putting more units, both marked and unmarked, on the highways.
THP Lt. Bill Miller said in the past two to three years, they've added over 300 new troopers to the streets. They're also recruiting new troopers.
Noah's family is pleading for someone to come forward. They are also asking TDOT to add recording cameras to the interstates.
There is a GoFundMe set to help Taylor's family.
