ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two people were taken into custody after a stolen Dodge Charger was recovered during a sting operation in Antioch.
Officers were conducting surveillance on a vehicle Tuesday that matched the description of a stolen orange Dodge Charger with a Daytona package.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Hilario Carreron Vasquez was spotted getting in and out of the vehicle before Austin Moore, 18, got in and drove away.
Officers tried to stop the Charger at the intersection of Mt. View Road and Bell Road before Moore fled at a high rate of speed onto Interstate 24, according to Metro police.
The vehicle was stopped by spike strips on I-24 East near mile marker 61 and Moore was taken into custody. Carreron Vasquez reportedly told officers he was in possession of the Charger before it was sold for $1,500.

Moore was booked into the Metro jail and charged with felony vehicle theft and evading arrest. Carreron Vasquez was charged with felony vehicle theft. Their bonds were set at $35,000 respectively
The vehicle was reportedly stolen and reprogrammed around May 4, 2025.
