COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have identified a man connected to a shooting in a Columbia neighborhood over the weekend, which left two people dead and one person injured.
The Maury County District Attorney Office told News 2 that Byron Childers has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, carjacking, assault, and use of a firearm in a dangerous felony. Records show he is being held without bond.

District Attorney Brent Cooper said Childers attempted to carjack an innocent bystander following the shooting.
According to the Columbia Police Department, officers were sent to the 3000 block of Somerset Lane shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 to respond to a shooting incident with "multiple gunshot victims."
Once at the scene, officials reportedly found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Law enforcement announced that 46-year-old John Bidle was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim—later identified as 51-year-old Stacie Wright—was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died during surgery. Meanwhile, the third victim was taken to VUMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
