Description

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — Spring Hill leaders reminded residents about the city's rules on construction activity before the fall weather is in full swing.

According to a Spring Hill ordinance, construction activity is allowed during the following times:

  • Between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays between September and May
  • Between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays between June and August
  • From 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays year-round

Construction activity requiring a permit is not allowed on Sundays or on city holidays. No work can be performed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Additionally, all radio noise and loud conversations are only allowed during work hours. Any contractor who needs to work outside normal construction hours must submit a request for approval in advance.

Exemptions include construction conducted by the City of Spring Hill as well as street sweeping vehicles, trash maintenance, or any evacuations or repairs to bridges, streets or highways during the night on behalf of the city. Emergency activities by the city in need of public utilities by private contractors are also part of the exemption.

Any contractor who violates the ordinance could be fined and cited to Spring Hill Municipal Court. Repeat offenders of the ordinance could be asked to stop working for at least five days.
