MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Illegal dumping continues to plague Rutherford County, but this time, a sheriff's deputy was able to catch the suspect.
Rutherford County deputies reported on Monday that a Rutherford County Correctional Work Center camera caught a woman driving a truck and then dumping trash on the side of Asbury Road.
A work center officer sorted through the trash and found a possible address of the suspect. He then found the vehicle parked a mile away. Deputies were notified and identified the suspect. They later asked the suspect to clean up the trash dumped.
The suspect is now facing charges including littering and driving on a revoked license.
Some people who live in the neighborhood considered this a win in the fight against illegal dumping. Several places along the road are full of trash, and they said they're very frustrated with people using their community as a dump.
"I think it's really sad; it's a beautiful area, and I don't know why people are doing that," Cheri Pacaul said.

At the end of the road is what some neighbors call the ground zero of dumping. A variety of trash has been dumped there including shopping carts, tires, paper and other debris.
As neighbors consider this arrest a win, they now want authorities to send a message that dumping is not tolerated.
