NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Motorists traveling in Davidson County may need to seek alternate routes beginning Friday as construction will leave a portion of I-40 and I-24 closed.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, crews with Bell Construction will conduct a ramp and lane closure along I-40 and I-24 beginning Friday, June 27, until Monday, July 2.
Officials said construction will the close the following roadways Friday:
- The I-24 westbound ramp from Murfreesboro Pike at 3 p.m.
- One right lane of I-40 eastbound over I-24 near mile marker 213 at 8 p.m.
- Shoulder closure on I-24W ramp to I-40E

TDOT said the closures will allow crews to repair a section of the I-40 bridge over I-24, which is where a pothole routinely opens.
"Drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone," stated the department.
For the latest information on construction activity, call 511 or view TDOT's Smartway Map.
