NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — In Five Points, you'll find an interactive piece of art.

On 11th Street, near Buds and Brews, you'll find Nashphone. Its creator, Jon Terzini, wanted to find a creative outlet so people could connect. It's already impacted East Nashville residents and now, Terzini is looking to expand. He was thinking of what he could do in East Nashville to foster connection.

Anyone can pick up the phone, listen to the previous message, and leave a response. NashPhone was originally installed in November 2024, but it went through months of diagnostic testing before making its way to its current location.

Terzini said NashPhone has been a stepping stone and that he's received lots of feedback from everyone — from neighbors to Metro Councilmembers.

"Some people sing songs. Some people tell a story about their day, and some people reply to a previous message," Terzini told News 2. "You get different views from other people that get to use it."

Terzini said with social media, people don't have a genuine connection. His next step is expanding NashPhone in other cities to see other people's perspectives. He hopes to expand to his hometown, Indianapolis, first. Then, Austin, Texas and beyond.

Terzini wants NashPhone to inspire other artists to create something of their own. His next step is reaching out to various artists in other cities ities to collaborate on new phone locations.
