Description

HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Mt. Juliet man faces a slew of felony charges after he was caught switching barcodes at a home improvement store in Hermitage on multiple occasions, officials said.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the suspect—identified as 61-year-old Gregory Nabors—was arrested by Organized Retail Crime detectives on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

An investigation, which reportedly spans back to March, revealed that Nabors would routinely enter the Lowe's store in the 5000 block of Old Hickory Boulevard, place items in his cart and then switch the barcodes with products that were "significantly cheaper" than the original price.

During an interview, Nabors allegedly admitted to the crime. Booking records show he was charged with 14 felony counts of criminal simulation and one count of felony theft of merchandise.

Nabors remains jailed on a $75,000 bond. No additional information was immediately released.
